Step 3: Choosing the Concept’s Canvas
Teaching dataspan.ai about the “Where”: This step teaches dataspan.ai’s generative AI algorithm, where the object should be inserted in an image.
In the Choose generation canvas dataset field, select the name of the Dataset folder of the background images on which to insert the foreground objects (which were) described above in Step 3: Choosing the Concept’s Canvas.
Note: dataspan.ai processes and learns from the foreground object images. These background images are only used during the process of creating a Concept to show examples of the objects inserted into their natural surroundings. Later, when you create a Batch, you can change the background into which these objects are inserted.
2. Specify where the objects will be inserted.
The generation canvas is the designated area within an image where objects can be inserted. For example, in images of potato leaves, blight should only be inserted onto the leaf itself. In the Choose generation canvas dataset field, specify where the objects will be inserted.

Anywhere: Specifies that dataspan.ai may insert the object anywhere in the image.
Region: Enables you to select one of the Regions that were defined using the Region option as the area where objects will be inserted.
